I totally think she won the debate. Neither of them presented any new information about the core beliefs of their respective campaigns. They both admitedly botched some sentences, made some innacurate statements and avoided question they didn't want to answer. Biden lived up to expectation, but she was expected to be standing on the stage drooling and making nonsensical statments twenty minutes into the affair. On the flipside, she showed herself to be once again likeable and proved that she could hold her own in a debate. For that reason, it was totally her win.

so she doesn't piss her pants or drool onstage and she's the winner? i mean granted, she did 100 times better than i expected her to in the debate, but she'll still came off as only slightly more competent than your average girls gone wild actress.

biden at least made an effort to avoid questions he didn't want to answer. the lady just started talking about apple pie and alaska anytime she was asked how mccain was different than bush.

still want to hit it though.

She didn't prove herself to be remotely as scholarly as Obama or Biden, but she threw out enough ammo to counter the backlash from her ABC / CBS interviews. People will still shit on her 36 hours later purely because they see what they want to see and she'll still be the dumb woman, but she is likable, oh so likable, and people like that.

I'm still going to end up voting Obama even though both candidates have policy flaws, but she proved that she is not a dunce, was inviting and again, likable. No better way to invigorate the Republican base (FOX still killed it in the ratings over other cable news organizations in the latest ratings) then make a person they like who identifies as "one of them" out to be the victim. If she is "one of them" and she gets called an idiot, then those people in essence are calling average Americans idiots.

She is also really good at speaking in sound bytes.

Not embarrassing yourself should not be holding your own in the debate. She did not answer the question at least eight different times, called him Senator O' Biden once, and just sounded out to lunch throughout most of it.

Was she better than I expected? Yes. Did it make me think she's even remotely qualified? No.

But none of that matters because I'm a Canadian.

EDIT: also, LOVED when Biden through in the "Bridge To Nowhere" insult. That was smooth.
