well that was totally uneventful. she did a million times better than i thought she was going to do, they were both super nice, no mudslinging, she sounded competent (enough), nowhere near a slaughter. total waste of time.

was anyone watching CNN follow her after the debate to her Republican gathering? She started her speech there with a Homer Simpson-style fist pump and "USA! USA! USA!"

The fact that Senator Biden had to tell Governor Palin how the Vice Presidency works frightens me.

i was listening to the debate on NPR in my car and when Palin said how the "east coast politicians" were screwing her "energy producing state" with the ban on off shore drilling, i literally yelled "like they'd fucking allow off shore drilling in California!"

and we have the fucking Republican Governator!

Best debate ever.

My favorite line to ever come from a Republican candidates mouth:

"There have been huge blunders with the war and huge blunders with this administration."

So, vote for us!!!

HA HA HA!

She was trying too hard to sound like their ticket was something different, that they weren't tied at all to Republicans-as-usual. Please, if you wanted to really be something different you'd be running as a Democrat.

I think you missed my point.

If she really believes she's "Joe 6-pack" and wants to be a "different" candidate, she'd run as something other than a Republican. She's criticizing the polices of the last 8 years while simultaneously running along side the same party.

except for the fact that many aspects about the bush administration are totally not in line with traditional republican values. there are plenty of republicans out there who are completely fed up with and hate the bush administration and would change things for real if they had the chance to, so i dont think its fair to say that just because someone is running as a republican that it means they wont be any different. im not saying anything about mccain, just talking about that idea.

I have a hard time believing that Republicans wouldn't fall back into the politics-as-usual routine if another Repub. were elected. People may be fed up with Bush, but the core values of their party still remain.

i learned absolutely nothing from this debate other than superficial characteristics such as sarah palin's penchant for tossing in a wink to the camera when she's dodging a question and biden throwing out an unstoppable shit eating grin anytime he wanted to walk across the stage and punch palin in the face. overall, i think this debate proved that, as with every other election, ultimately it doesn't really matter who the VP nominee is, because the election is all about the top of the ticket.

I liked Biden's billirant plan to help stop the genocide in Darfur by establishing No-Fly Zones over Sudan.
