So, uh, Germany pretty much destroyed us.

I will say that they deserved to win the game, Australia were outplayed for sure, but I will also say that Tim Cahill did not deserve a red card, what a load of balls.

Exactly. The other guy doesn't know he's getting hit so he can't do much to avoid it or protect himself, which is considered enough a reason for a straight red.

They are going to stack the box up 2-0. We didn't really have anything going other than that 5 minute or so spurt that ended up with them scoring. Horrible counter defense, no attack, zero creativity. UGH! Sorry I'm in full-on depression mode.

What a comeback. That offside call was horrible, shoulda been a win, and now I feel disappointed somehow.

yikes. 3-2? i don't normally get on refs, but that last goal...yikes.

espn should get rid of harkes and just go all uk announcers.

I'm still not over that game. I think I've lost 10 pounds pacing around.

fucking ref man.

honestly, he called a shit game and most of it came as bad calls against america. although im sure our espn coverage didnt do some of the replays of potential no calls/bad calls on slovenia. if that is the case then he is just a shitty ref.

im still hoping that instead of an england tie today, they win and then beat up on slovenia and america beats up on algeria.

i love that english team.

Even I watched some of this, my first glimpse of the world cup this year so far... I just liked the part towards the end where they carried the injured guy off the field very quickly on the gurney. Hockey should be like that. No stoppage in play, just do it military style and get the player off the ice asap, unless his head needs to be restrained or something...

they usually take their time with hockey players because there's a lot more risk involved with their necks, spines, brains, etc.
i was totally bummed when a college player--travis roy--became paralyzed after his first few seconds on the ice. you really felt for the guy when he cried because he couldn't play hockey ever again.

one of the things i don't like about soccer is how they embellish their falls after being fouled, covering their face and acting like they're in agony. it's just as bad as diving in hockey.

great USA game. total bummer about the goal that got taken away. is that stuff subject to review at all?
